Puerto Rico Renews O*NET-SOC AutoCoder Support

Puerto Rico was first to implement the Spanish translation feature of O*NET-SOC AutoCoder in a production claims-taking process; so R.M. Wilson Consulting, Inc is extremely pleased that Puerto Rico has once again chosen to renew their support agreement with us.

Oregon Extends O*NET-SOC AutoCoder Support thru March 2015

 

R.M. Wilson Consulting, Inc. released the first version of our occupation coding software in late 2004; and Oregon became the 2^nd State in the Nation to license O*NET-SOC AutoCoder in early 2005.  Every year since, Oregon has renewed their support agreement … a fact we believe speaks to quality of our product and the consistency of our support.

 

This year though, Oregon renewed for five more years … locking in support at the current price through March 2015.

 

In 2005 it probably seemed a bit risky to go with RMWC for O*NET-SOC AutoCoder support; but now, signing long-term support agreements with RMWC is becoming much more common.  In fact, Oregon joins Alabama, Iowa, Kentucky, and Utah in signing five-year agreements.

 

So as we begin our sixth year of providing the most accurate automated O*NET-SOC coding solution, we are thrilled to continue our relationship with Oregon.

Green Job Extractor News

 

Ready, set, go green!

 

This week we’re putting the finishing touches on our Green Job Extractor v1.0. 

 

You may well be asking, ‘what’s it do?’, and ‘why should I care?’

 

Well, if you received a ‘Green LMI’ grant from ETA, then you already know that ETA is funding States to “collect, analyze, and disseminate labor market information, and to enhance the labor exchange infrastructure for careers within the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.”

 

Key to delivering Green LMI, and enhancing the labor exchange for Green Jobs, is the ability to identify green opportunities within the economy.  This is where the Green Job Extractor (GJE) helps.

 

In much the same way that O*NET-SOC AutoCoder assigns O*NET codes to jobs, GJE assigns ‘Green Levels’ and ‘Green Scores’ using a combination of the following inputs:

 

 -   Job Title

-   Job Description

-   Job Category

-   Firm/Advertiser

-   O*NET 14 Code

-   O*NET 14 Fit Score

-   NAICS Code

-   NAICS Fit Score

-   Green Override Level

-   Green Trust Score

that make it easier to

see the input parameters

and assigned ‘Green

Levels’.

 

Since the definition of a ‘Green Job’ is still evolving, GJE provides extensive options for State customization.  The default configuration for GJE assigns one of six ‘Green Level’s’ to each ad; ranging from ‘Dark Green’ to ‘Anti-Green’.  But with GJE, you are in control of the number of assigned levels, plus a host of additional configuration settings.  So GJE will support your research as well a providing a tool that is ready to work right out of the box.
